Programming

Programming in the Residence Halls

Residence hall staff provide a wide range of academic, cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs designed to support the holistic development of students and foster a strong sense of community. Programming is based on a wellness model that encourages personal growth, peer connection, and community engagement.

All programs are free for on-campus residents and offer opportunities to learn, have fun, and build lasting relationships. Events range from small floor gatherings to large-scale celebrations like Fall Festival, and hall wide carnivals

Community Meetups

Community Meetups are held throughout the semester and serve as a key opportunity for residents to connect with one another, stay informed, and engage in meaningful conversations about community expectations, safety, and upcoming events. Led by Resident Assistants (RAs), these gatherings help build a sense of belonging and ensure that everyone is aware of important updates and resources.

Residents are encouraged to make every effort to attend Community Meetups, as they are an essential part of the residential experience and contribute to a positive and connected living environment.

Community Connection Experience
The Community Connection Experience (C.C.E.) is a student-led organization that represents the collective voice of all residential students. Its mission is to advocate for resident interests and create opportunities for connection through educational, social, and service-oriented programming across all residence halls.

C.C.E. is advised by a Graduate Assistant for Leadership and Engagement and led by a five-member Executive Board composed of live-in student leaders. Together, they coordinate campus-wide initiatives that strengthen community bonds and enhance the on-campus living experience.

Hall Councils
Each residence hall has its own Hall Council—a student-led organization that serves as the voice of the residents and plays a vital role in shaping the hall community. Hall Councils plan and host a variety of events, advocate for student needs, and collaborate closely with hall staff to enhance the residential experience.

Participation in Hall Council is a great way to get involved, develop leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact in your community. Council members are considered key leaders within their halls and are encouraged to work alongside hall staff to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment

Living Learning Communities (LLCs)

Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are programs in the residence halls that bring students together who share the same academic background, major, or interest.
