Housing License Cancellation Request
Students are unable to withdraw from housing if they have an active housing license
because housing licenses are active through the end of the license term. Housing licenses
that begin for a Fall or Spring term are active through the end of the Spring term.
Summer licenses are active through the end of the summer term.
Students may request a cancellation of their Housing License and room assignment (if
applicable) at any point during the application period or term of the agreement.
If you are requesting a housing license cancellation due to completely withdrawing from UNT in the middle of a semester, you must first submit a Withdrawal Request Form through the Dean of Students Office.
If your request to cancel your housing license is granted then you will be able to
withdraw from housing. Please review the withdrawal credit schedule carefully so you understand the associated financial obligations should your request
be approved.
Housing License Cancellation Request Form
If approved, residents will need to follow all move-out procedures, completely vacate
the room by their move-out date, and officially check out at the front desk of their
building.
Submitting this form does not mean your request to cancel your license is automatically
approved. Requests will be reviewed and residents will be notified of the outcome
after review is completed.
Cancellation requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Approval of the request
and eligibility for a refund or reduction of charges are subject to the terms of the
Housing License to which applicants agreed when they applied, the Housing withdrawal credit schedule, and UNT policies regarding requirements for first-year students, if applicable.
