UNT Serves
The themed community UNT SERVES! Living Learning Community provides an opportunity for students from all majors to participate in community engagement, service, and leadership. Students will learn about complex social issues and how our communities come together to address these issues. Themes include youth and education, health, hunger, human rights, animal welfare, and the environment/sustainability. UNT SERVES! meets twice a month to explore these topics in depth – a UNT faculty member will help lead a discussion on the issue and a community organization or non-profit will talk about how they work to solve the issue. After learning about each issue, UNT SERVES! students will participate in 10 service hours in Denton and the North Texas community, along with campus service and volunteer activities.
Students in the UNT SERVES! program will be introduced to a variety of programs, services, and people to help them to connect and grow during their time at the UNT.
