Sustainability - We Mean Green

Do you want to be an agent of change in your community? Are you passionate for the environment and sustainability? The “We Mean Green” Sustainability Community supported by the UNT Office of Sustainability is designed for you. The We Mean Green REAL community seeks to engage students in activities that approach them to live in a more sustainable manner; developing leadership and team building skills in the process.

Located at Maple Hall and open to all majors as well as international students, makes this community a starting point of internationalization, multiculturalism, networking, community engagement and behavior change. As a part of this community the students will enjoy personal attention and mentoring accompanied with interaction with staff and faculty, enriching the experience of the students during their stay in the community.

The We Mean Green community will allow you to experience:

  • Participation of events hosted by the UNT Sustainability such as Earth Week, RecycleMania, Tailgating, Food day, among others
  • Being an agent of change in residence halls in conjunction with the Eco Reps  
  • Exploration of sustainability concepts 
  • Engagement in community service
  • Promotion of recycling, water and energy conservation, local consumption and social sustainability 
  • Creation and enhancement of UNT Sustainability initiatives 
  • Motivate behavior change and campus culture
