Art & Design

The College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) is home to a host of talented young students who are looking to make a career out of their creative abilities. Not surprisingly, this is one of the most competitive colleges at UNT. In recognition of this fact Housing offers a REAL Community for students in CVAD or students who maintain a strong passion for art and design, though they may have chosen to major in another field. This community provides students with a built-in support group for difficult classes and their associated projects, as well as a jury of peers to review each other's work.

If you were to join the REAL Community for Art and Communication Design, you would encounter:

Programs at your hall put on by CVAD faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, which deal specifically with your major, giving you insight in your classes.

  • A field trip each semester, where you'll be able to visit a location that coincides with your interest in graphic design and fine arts.
  • The opportunity to get to know CVAD faculty in a social setting.
  • A common room on your floor that will be available for you to work on projects or display artwork.

You may have an opportunity to take the same course, required in your degree plan, with people who live within your REAL Community.
