Facility Assistant
The UNT Housing Department looks for qualified students every semester to become Facility Assistants.
- Carry out special projects that will help increase the aesthetic value of our residence halls.
- Will work with other FAs performing a variety of tasks involving work orders, grounds, building care, and furniture relocation as well as work on special projects specific to each hall.
- Perform some custodial functions such as floor cleaning, furniture cleaning, and exterior garbage removal when the full-time custodians are not available.
- Operate power equipment such as pressure washers, golf carts, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
- Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks such as installing towel bars and soap dishes, painting, landscaping, replacing light bulbs and fixtures, and minor furniture repairs.
- Must be able to lift items that are bulky and often weigh 50 lbs. or more (e.g. tables, chairs, bed frames, etc.).
- Have a working knowledge of proper safety habits and rules.
- Have a good eye for detail.
