REAL
RESIDENTS ENGAGED IN ACADEMIC LIVING

Art and DesignThe College of Visual Arts and Design (COVAD) is home to a host of talented young students who are looking to make a career out of their artistic abilities. Not surprisingly, this is one of the most competitive departments at UNT. In recognition of this fact, the Housing department offers a REAL Community for students in COVAD or students who maintain a strong passion for art and design, though they may have chosen to major in another field. Located on the B400 wing of Kerr Hall, this community provides students with a built-in support group for difficult classes and their associated projects, as well as a jury of peers to review each other's work.
If you were to join the REAL Community for Art and Communication Design students, you would encounter:
- Programs at your hall put on by COVAD faculty, which will deal specifically with your major, giving you an advantage in your classes
- A field trip each semester, where you'll be able to visit a location that coincides with your interest in graphic design and art
- The opportunity to get to know COVAD faculty in a less intimidating and more social setting
- A common room on your floor that will be available for you to work on projects or put up artwork
